For admission to IIT Madras-

• UG Degree-

  • Candidates typically need to have completed Class 12 (or an equivalent qualification) with at least 75% aggregate marks (or 65% for SC/ST/PwD) and 

  • Must perform well in the JEE Advanced exam for undergraduate courses.

• For postgraduate degrees-

  • Eligibility criteria differ based on the specific program, which usually requires a related bachelor's degree along with a valid score from GATE or another relevant entrance examination.

  • Applicants must have a BE/B.Tech degree with at least 60% of aggregate scores.

  • IIT Madras Direct Admission- Applicants who are IIT graduates and have an 8 CGPA or more in their bachelor's may get direct admission in IIT Madras.

SRMIST is a private university 1985. It is based in Kattankulathur, near Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. SRMIST is approved by UGC, AICTE, NBA, etc. It received NAAC accreditation of A++ grade, and as per NIRF ranking of 2024, it stood 13th in engineering category. SRMIST offers a 4-year B.Tech program in civil engineering with a total intake of 90 students, and a B.Tech in civil engineering with computer application intake is 30 students. At PG level, SRMIST offers M.Tech with specializations in construction engineering & management, environmental engineering, geotechnical engineering, remote sensing & geographic information system, and structural engineering. Total intake for M.Tech program is between 12 and 45.

SRMIST admission criteria

• Those who are indian residents or NRI, holders of a PIO or OCI card issued by government of India can apply for SRMJEEE(UG).

• Must have attained the age of 16 years and 6 months on 31st July of the year of admission when 12th board examination is to be held.

• For UG admission, applicants must have passed higher secondary examination with a minimum 60% aggregate mark.

• Physics, mathematics, chemistry, biotechnology, computer science, etc as regular stream from any board within India like CBSE, ISCE, IB, or NIOS, and matriculation.

• For M.Tech eligibility, B.E/B.Tech degree with an aggregate mark of 50%. Preference will be given to students with GATE score and work experience. Selection will be based on entrance exam and interview.
