Savitribai Phule Pune University was established in 1949 under the Poona University Act. It is stretched across 411 acres of land in the northwestern part of Pune city. Savitribai Phule Pune University has been affiliated and recognized by UGC. It has been re-credited A+ by NAAC and ranked 23rd in university category by NIRF. The university includes 46 academic departments, 307 recognised research institutes and 612 affiliated colleges offering many UG and PG courses. Universities have good accommodations for students such as provisions of hostel, well stocked library, scholarships, health facilities, bus services, and more. University offers 2 major programs, one is a PG program in commerce, which is split into 4 semesters, and the second program is a PhD in commerce. It also offers B.COM at UG level for 3 years.

Savitribai Phule Pune University Eligibility Criteria 

• To be eligible for B.COM and M.COM admission in Savitribai Phule Pune University, students must have passed the higher secondary school certificate or any equivalent examination with minimum required marks.

• For M.COM admission, students must have a bachelor's degree in the related field with a minimum required mark.

• The online entrance examination for PG courses is tentatively scheduled from 18th March to 20th March 2025. 

• Tentatively scheduled online entrance examination for UG course is 4th April 2025.

Savitribai Phule Pune University Fee Structure

• Savitribai Phule Pune University charges B.COM students with a total tuition fee ranging from INR 3,000 to INR 4.3 lakhs. 

• M.COM tuition fee is not specified but the total fee for 2 years is INR 28,000.

St Mira's College

St Mira’s college was founded in 1962 as the first college established exclusively for women in Pune. It has been ranked 35th by India Today in 2024 for overall college ranking and accredited A grade by NAAC. St. Mira’s college has been recognised by the UGC and also has been affiliated to Pune University. University offers B.COM, BBA, BBA(CA) at UG level with specializations in banking and finance, entrepreneurial development, cost & works accountancy, marketing, and business administration.  Students can pursue M.COM at PG level with specializations in business administration, accountancy, and taxation.

St Mira’s commerce admission for the session 2025-26 is expected to commence from 15 April 2025*. students are advised to visit the university's official website and stay updated regarding the UG and PG admission.

St. Mira's College Eligibility Criteria 

• To be eligible for the B.COM program, students must have passed the higher secondary school certificate or equivalent examination.

• Students aspiring for M.COM admission must have a B.COM degree from the University of Pune or any other recognised university.

• Entrance examination: St. Mira’s College doesn't conduct an entrance examination for any commerce program. 

St. Mira's College Fee Structure 

Students pursuing B.COM program will have to pay tuition fee of INR 15,000* per year, totaling approximately up to INR 45,000 for the entire course. 

Brihan Maharashtra College of Commerce

BMCC was established in 1943 by the Deccan Education Society. Which is located in Pune, Maharashtra. It is affiliated to Savitribai Phule Pune University. BMCC has been accredited with an A grade by NAAC and ranked 101-150 position by NIRF in commerce category.  University provides various commerce courses like B.COM, BBA, B.COM honors, B.COM fintech, B.COM-IB, B.COM- CA at UG level and M.COM at PG level. Students are offered many commerce specializations including financial planning & analysis, import & export, data analytics, international business, travel & tourism management.

Brihan Maharashtra College of Commerce Eligibility Criteria

• For UG program, Students must have passed 12th from a recognised educational board with a minimum of 50% mark.

• For the PG admission students with a bachelor's degree in the related field, with a minimum mark of not less than 50%, are eligible for the program. 

• There is no entrance exam for the UG program, but students would need to clear the online entrance exam for M.COM part-1 admission. 

• Admission to BMCC will be merit-based and cutoff marks, which may vary according to the program and category.
