National Institute of Design, which is also known as NID, was the first institute founded in 1961 in Ahmedabad. There are a total of five NIDs that exist. NID Ahmedabad eligibility Requirements

To get into NID-Ahmedabad, Students need to meet some special entry requirements based on programme. It includes education qualifications, age limit, and Design Aptitude Test (DAT).

• B.Des (Bachelor of Design):

  • Educational Qualification: Candidate must have passed 10+2 or equivalent exam from a recognized board in any stream (Science, Arts, Commerce, Humanities).

• M.Des (Master of Design):

  • Educational Qualification: Applicants must have a Bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognized university

  • Age Limit: Students must be born on or after July 1st of the relevant year 

  • Relaxation: Candidates from reserved categories can get a 3-year relaxation. 

  • PwD: Candidates from the public works department can get a 5-year relaxation. 

• PhD:

  • Educational Qualification: Students must have a Master's degree in Design. 

  • Selection Criteria: Students must attend a proposal screening, Design Research Test (DRT), and an interview.

2. AAFT

AAFT- Asian Academy of Film & Television is a private educational institution, set up in 1993. AAFT is situated in Sector 16A, Noida, Uttar Pradesh, India. AAFT is recognized by Ministry of Education and is also approved by University Grants Commission. At UG level, AAFT has an animation department that offers a 3-year B.SC program in game design, animation, and B.DES in 3D animation & visual effects. After B.SC program, students can pursue M.SC in game design and animation.

Registration fee for the degree program is INR 20,600, and INR 15,600 for diploma courses.

• BSC course is around INR 2.85 lakhs to INR 6.12 lakhs.

• M.SC program fee is around INR 1.8 lakhs to INR 4.8 lakhs.

AAFT eligibility criteria

• Students applying for admission at UG/diploma level must have passed 10+2 higher education from a recognized board of education like CBSE/ICSE/IGCSE/IB/ or state board/.

• Those applying for PG courses must have either appeared or passed a bachelor's degree in any stream 10+2+4 system, from any university/institution recognized (by law) in India.

• Diploma in any stream under 10+2+4 system from any university recognized by Government of India.

• Students will be required to appear for AAFT GEE (AAFT Global Entrance Exam). which is an online aptitude test that consists of questions based on your chosen program.

• After clearing AAFT GEE, students will be required to appear for a personal interview round.
